Eva Wood, Intern

Meet Eva Richardson, Intern

Hello! My name is Eva Wood. I have lived in Washington most of my life, minus a few years where I lived in Oklahoma. The Pacific Northwest is where I am meant to be. If I am not working, I am spending time with friends and family. On Saturdays you can find me at the indoor soccer arena coaching my team.

As a counselor I enjoy working with adolescents and adults, offering a warm, supportive space where clients can feel safe, seen, and understood. With nearly nine years of experience in the mental health field as a family support specalist and my experience working at Northwest EMDR, I have worked with individuals navigating intense emotional distress, including crisis situations involving severe suicidal ideation. I have experience supporting clients from the LGBTQ+ community and working with BIPOC individuals, and value providing care that is inclusive, affirming, and respectful of each person’s unique identity and lived experience.

My main areas of clinical interests include trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and identity-related concerns. I take a person-centered approach to therapy, believing that healing happens best within a trusting, collaborative relationship. I enjoy integrating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR, tailoring treatment to meet each client’s individual needs and goals. My therapy style is compassionate, grounded, and empowering, with an emphasis on helping clients build insight, resilience, and practical skills. I strive to create a space where clients feel supported as they navigate challenges, reconnect with themselves, and move toward meaningful change.

“I understand your pain. Trust me, I do. I’ve seen people go from the darkest moments in their lives to living a happy, fulfilling life. You can do it too. I believe in you. You are not a burden. You will NEVER BE a burden.”
