Meet Laura Drennen, Intern
Welcome! My name is Laura, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern at Northwest EMDR Therapy, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I), and Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA).
Outside of my professional role, I love spending time with family & friends, experiencing the arts & foods this area has to offer, exploring the beauty of the PNW through hiking & kayaking, and creating art. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. If you are seeking support on your journey toward healing and growth, I would be honored to work alongside you. I look forward to connecting with you.
“You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress, simultaneously. ”
— Sophia Bush
My Approach
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, life transitions, and women's wellness. My counseling approach is person-centered, strengths-based, collaborative, and solution-focused. I enjoy helping clients identify their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful change. I am passionate about helping clients develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, confidence, and a deeper understanding of their life experiences as they move toward healing and personal growth. I will be working toward EMDR certification to further support clients in processing trauma and overcoming barriers to wellness.
