Meet Meg Tuncer, Intern

Hello! My name is Meg, and I am a counseling intern at Northwest EMDR Therapy. I work with clients of all ages and value a truly collaborative approach to therapy that honors your individuality, experiences, and goals. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can feel supported as you explore your identity, challenges, strengths, growth, and sense of purpose. I enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients and create a space where anyone who walks through my door can explore their identity with curiosity, compassion, and authenticity.

Outside of counseling, I am a triathlete and endurance athlete, and I have spent much of my life in high-performance competitive environments. I am originally from Maryland but have found a home in the Pacific Northwest where getting outside, exploring, and connecting with nature are a big part of my life.

Whether you are navigating a specific challenge, feeling stuck, or simply hoping to better understand yourself, I would be honored to work alongside you.

“Trust yourself. You’ve survived a lot and you’ll survive whatever is coming.”

— Robert Tew

My Approach

My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic techniques that help incorporate body awareness, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness. I believe mental health is deeply connected to our bodies, and developing awareness of how we experience emotions, stress, and relationships physically can be an important additional part of healing and growth.
